The Isle of Islay is a small island located off the western coast of Scotland. Known as the Queen of the Hebrides, the island is renowned for its whisky distilleries, bird life and beautiful landscapes. Islay is 25 miles (40km) in length and around 20 miles (32km) wide. Thanks largely to the Gulf Stream; it has a fairly temperate climate.
